Mistaken refuelling refers to a situation in which a vehicle has been refuelled with fuel oil by mistake.
What should I do if a vehicle was refuelled with fuel oil by mistake?
- You cannot drive the vehicle after mistaken refuelling.
- Contact Traficom (tel. +358 29 534 5125), Finnish Customs or the police immediately to agree on moving the vehicle to be serviced.
- After submitting a notice of mistaken refuelling and receiving permission to drive the vehicle, you can drive your vehicle along the most direct route to the agreed location to be serviced.
REQUIRED SERVICING MEASURES
After mistaken refuelling, the vehicle’s fuel system must be drained and cleaned and the filters changed.
In a laboratory test, even a small amount of fuel oil can indicate that it has been in the fuel system.
