Digitalization of the maritime sector has been of great interest in recent years for achieving enhanced safety, security, efficiency and environmental sustainability. The aim of this study is to examine implementation of digitalization as one of the tools to reach the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) 2050 goals for greenhouse gas (GHG) reduction in the maritime transportation sector and how different actors perceive the potential role of digitalization in emission abatement.
