A digital certificate is a 6-digit code which gives the right to make changes to the data on a watercraft's owners or holder. A digital certificate will be valid for 30 days after it has been created. A register notification of change of ownership should be completed within this period, but we recommend that you complete it without delay.

Where can I use a e-certificate?

A e-certificate can only be used in Traficom’s e-services. When you visit the office of service provider, you must bring a deed of transfer issued by the owner entered in the register.

How is a e-certificate created?

1

A e-certificate is created by the seller of a watercraft

As the registered owner, or seller, of the watercraft, you must log into the My e-Services and create a e-certificate.
Identification is required to use the service. You must be aged 15 or over.

The e-certificate may be created free of charge.

As a seller, you cannot use the e-certificate on behalf of the buyer to register the change of ownership.
