As from 1 May 2021, obtaining a taxi transport licence has required natural persons to hold a valid business identity code (Business ID). The purpose of this requirement is to make it easier to identify licence holders as well as facilitate licence and fiscal control.
The requirement also applies to those taxi transport licence holders whose licence has been granted before the new rule entered into force on 1 May 2021. Taxi transport licence holders who do not yet have a Business ID must acquire one by 1 August 2021.
The Business ID does not need to be notified to Traficom. The Tax Administration will inform Traficom of the Business IDs granted to taxi transport licence holders, and Traficom will update the information in the Transport Register. Traficom will in August begin to take supervisory action with respect to those licence holders who do not have a Business ID. Failure to meet the conditions for obtaining the licence may lead to the licence being cancelled.
