The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom begins issuing ship registration documents electronically on 16 June 2025. You can check the validity of registration documents in the same electronic service as ship certificates and safety certificates.
The first registration documents to be issued electronically are the Certificate of Nationality, the CSR (Continuous Synopsis Record) and the Certificate of Deletion. Later this year will also other registration documents be issued in electronic form. The new electronic process will make it easier to provide certificates to customers and to authorities in other countries.
The validity of an electronically issued document can be checked in Traficom’s e-service with the document register number. The service does not require users to log in, and it can be accessed with any internet browser. The service is intended for authorities and shipowners in particular.
