Traficom maintains the Transport Register (formerly the Finnish Aircraft Register), which contains register data on Finnish civil aircraft; the applicants for and holders of licences, certificates, ratings, and approvals; and aircraft mortgages.

Disclosure of information from the Transport Register

The data of an individual aircraft can be accessed free of charge using Traficom's eServices (External link) .

If your need for information is considerable in scope and based on the duties of a public authority or related to aircraft financing, insurance, or inspection, the sale and maintenance of replacement parts, the determination of air traffic charges, or other comparable activity, please contact Traficom at tietojenluovutus (at) traficom.fi.

Transport Register certificates

All persons have the right to access information entered in the Transport Register maintained by a public authority.

Applications for certificates must be made in writing and sent to Traficom by email, fax, or other comparable means. Applications must identify the particular aircraft they concern. At a minimum, they must mention the registration of the aircraft in question, the document being ordered, address and billing details, and, where applicable, a Business Identity Code.

The documents are subject to a fee. Information as to whether there are any valid mortgages on an aircraft can also be supplied by telephone.

  • Extract from an aircraft’s register data

Extracts from an aircraft’s register data contain identifying information related to the aircraft, as well as information on its type, airworthiness, and current owners/users/holders/representatives. The grant dates of aircraft mortgages and start dates of possible transfer restrictions are also included.

  • Encumbrance certificate

Encumbrance certificates contain information on currently valid mortgages on an aircraft as well as the start dates of any transfer restrictions.

Encumbrance certificates and extracts from an aircraft’s register data are subject to a fee of EUR 75 per document.
