You can permanently delete your vehicle from the register by submitting it for recycling free of charge at an official take-back point of Suomen Autokierrätys Oy.

At the Suomen Autokierrätys take-back point, you will receive a certificate of destruction once you have taken your vehicle there. The take-back point will take care of the deregistration of your vehicle.

Passenger cars and vans must always be submitted to an official take-back point for scrapping in order to be permanently deleted from the register.

If the vehicle that is to be scrapped is not a car or van, you can also scrap it elsewhere. If you have scrapped a vehicle in some other way than through an official take-back point, you have to perform the final deregistration yourself.

Do the following if you have scrapped a vehicle outside an official take-back point

1

Log in to My e-Services

After identification, select your service role: personal services, acting on behalf of another person or acting on behalf of a company/an organisation.

2

Perform the scrapping of a vehicle in the Vehicles and taxation section

Select Report the scrapping of a vehicle.

3

Pay for the scrapping of a vehicle

You can save the receipt if you want. You can also later check that the scrapping of a vehicle succeeded on the My Activities page.

If you are unable to use the electronic service, you can also fill in the pdf form Report on destruction of vehicle (B144) and submit it to Traficom’s registry. For the report, you need a certificate issued by the party in charge of scrapping the vehicle or another reliable report on how your vehicle was scrapped.

Fill in the Report on destruction of vehicle (B144) form and deliver it to the Traficom registry (External link)(form is available in Finnish)

Jos lähetät report sähköpostitse, suosittelemme käyttämään salattua yhteyttä. Näin varmistat, ettei ulkopuoliset pääse tietoihin käsiksi.
