Make sure that you have all the necessary supporting documents
- Certificates for all higher education degrees and/or qualifications providing professional competence you have completed. If your certificate has been issued in two languages, for example in the official language of the country and in English, provide a copy of both.
- Diploma/certificate supplement or some other description of the content of the education, for example a transcript of study records.
- Certificate of completion of a separate study module and/or document demonstrating professional competence
- Document proving nationality, for example a copy of your passport personal information page or an extract from the Population Information System
- If your name has changed, provide a document such as an extract from the Population Information System (“virkatodistus” in Finnish) or a marriage certificate, and its translation, if necessary
- Certificates of professional experience i.e. certificates of employment from your employers The certificates must show the employer’s contact details.
- If you demonstrate your competence on the basis of lifelong learning, attach to your application certificates of your knowledge, skills and professional competence that for example an employer has formally confirmed for this purpose.
- In addition, you need Finnish, Swedish or English translations of the documents you have provided if the original document is in a language other than Finnish, Swedish, Norwegian, Danish, Icelandic, English, Spanish, French or German. The translator of the document must be an authorised translator in Finland or in the country of origin for the languages in question. An English translation provided by the issuer of the document will be accepted.

You will receive the decision in the Suomi.fi service or by post
You will receive the decision within four months from submitting the application. Requests for information and clarifications concerning the application affect the total processing time.
