An accessible transport system consists of accessible transport infrastructure and services as well as accessible travel and journey information. Travel chains are accessible when passengers can plan their journeys and travel smoothly and safely despite their special needs and have access to information on their travel chains, including interchanges and transfers, timetables and service disruptions, in an accessible format.

Traficom promotes the accessibility of the transport system and travel chains as part of its wide range of duties.

Information obligations concerning accessibility of passenger transport services

Traficom monitors compliance with the information obligations imposed by the Act on Transport Services. The Act requires providers of passenger transport services to give passengers information about the accessibility of their services. Essential information on accessibility must also be made available via interfaces for use by other operators.
