If the name or address of the licence holder has changed, the licence holder can apply for a licence document with up-to-date information, if necessary. You also need to apply for a licence document with up-to-date information if the legal form of the company changes from a limited partnership company to a limited liability company, but the business ID remains the same. In contrast, if you establish a new company, you should apply for a new licence and request that the old licence be cancelled, if the old licence is no longer used for transport operations.

Do the following:

1

Apply for a goods or passenger transport licence document with up-to-date information

You can apply for goods or passenger transport licence document with up-to-date information online in  My e-Services under the section road traffic transport licences.

Please note that change of name or address shall not be notified to Traficom but for natural persons to the Digital and Population Data Services Agency and for legal persons to the Trade Register. Change of the form of enterprise must also be submitted to the Trade Register. Traficom may issue a licence document with up-to-date information only when the change notifications mentioned above have been processed by the relevant authorities. Only the licence number of an earlier licence will change when granting a new licence document.

In matters related to transport operations, a natural person selects ‘Personal services’, while a legal person should choose ‘Acting on behalf of a company/an organisation’. This means that a natural person as an applicant or a licence holder always acts as an individual, not as a representative of their company operating under a business name. Only a person with the right to represent the transport company either with an authorisation or without a separate authorisation based on their role recorded in the Finnish Trade Register may act on behalf of a company in the service.

The service is free of charge.
