Accessibility statement for Traficom’s websites
The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom strives to guarantee the accessibility of its websites in compliance with the Act on the provision of digital services 306/2019.
Website accessibility status
Traficom’s websites partly fulfil the requirements of the Act on the provision of digital services 306/2019. Accessibility deficiencies and applicable exceptions are described below.
Non-accessible content
Structure
- Lists: Some elements that function as lists have not been programmatically identified as lists, and in some cases list elements have been used unnecessarily. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- Text alternatives and accessible names: Some images lack descriptive text alternatives and some buttons lack descriptive accessible names. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.4.5, 4.1.2)
- Tables: In some tables, header cells have not been programmatically identified. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- Headings: Some headings have not been programmatically identified as headings. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- Lists: There are shortcomings in the programmatic marking of some lists. (WCAG 1.3.1)
Element-specific accessibility issues
- Header in mobile view: When the language or user menu is opened, focus automatically moves to the first item in the menu. When navigating backwards out of the menu, focus does not always return to the button that opened the menu, but may instead move through other menu buttons first. (WCAG 2.4.3, 1.3.2)
- Footer: The logo is slightly cut off on a screen that is 320 CSS pixels wide. (WCAG 1.4.10)
- Search: The number of search results is announced incorrectly by screen readers. (WCAG 4.1.3)
Content
- Image contrast: There are deficiencies in image contrast in some cases. (WCAG 1.4.3, 1.4.11)
- Tables: On some pages, tables are presented as images, which means that screen readers cannot read the content. (WCAG 1.3.1)
- Videos: Some videos lack subtitles or audio description. (WCAG 1.2.2, 1.2.5)
- Attachments: The attachments on the websites contain numerous accessibility deficiencies. (WCAG 1.1.1, 1.3.1, 1.3.2, 1.4.3, 1.4.1, 1.4.11, 2.1.1, 2.4.2, 2.4.3, 2.4.4, 3.1.1, 3.1.2, 3.3.2)
Content not covered by the legislation
The websites contain content that is not covered by the requirements of the legislation. Such content includes:
- content published by third parties that has not been produced, financed or supervised by the service provider
- files published before 23 September 2018
- video or audio recordings published before 23 September 2020
