International motor vehicle inspection body CITA convenes in Finland 28–30 March 2023
The Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom will host CITA meetings on 28–30 March 2023 in cooperation with YKL ry, an association of private inspection stations, and A-Katsastus Group Oy, a vehicle inspection service provider. The agenda includes, for example, the drafting of a recommendation on vehicle suspension. The recommendation will include best inspection practices intended to support the drafting of a new directive on roadworthiness tests for motor vehicles.
Clarifications concerning vehicle ECU programming and modifications
As of 1 June 2024, operators carrying out vehicle engine control unit (ECU) programming and modifications must provide evidence that the vehicle complies with emissions requirements following the modification – sufficient evidence includes a report issued by a recognised expert or designated technical service or a type-approval certificate.
