  • New email address for the market surveillance of pleasure craft

    We are introducing a dedicated email address for the market surveillance of pleasure craft. From 15 April 2026 onwards, Traficom’s market surveillance specialists can be contacted at huviveneet.markkinavalvonta@traficom.fi.

  • Boater, make the necessary preparations before heading out onto the water

    Boating is a popular pastime, and there are always plenty of new enthusiasts on the waters as well. In recognition of this, the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom, the police, the Finnish Border Guard and the Finnish Transport Infrastructure Agency would like to remind all boaters of the importance of proper preparation.

  • A boater’s navigation skills cannot be replaced with technical tools in a GPS interference situation

    Electronic navigation tools are used widely in small boats. However, technical tools do not replace a boater’s good navigation skills in unexpected situations, such as when there is interference in satellite navigation. For your safety, keep nautical charts with you. Notify the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency Traficom of radio interference.
