Apply for an AFIR ID for a charging point operator and/or mobility service provider

Applications for unique identification codes to identify operators of publicly available recharging points and mobility service providers are directed to the Finnish Transport and Communications agency, which is the Identification Registration Organisation (‘IDRO’) in Finland.

The applicant can ask the IDRO to ratify an existing ID or apply for another ID in conformity with existing regulation. Traficom informs the applicant of the decision.

The cost for the initial application is 80 euro and a yearly fee of 80 euro is charged for ID´s that are in force in the beginning of the calendar year.

In case your company is not established in Finland you can file the application by e-mail idro(at)traficom.fi. The following information is requested in the application:

  • Contact details for person and company
  • Sender´s proof of authorization to represent the applicant
  • Billing details for application and yearly fee
  • Proposal for an AFIR-ID
  • Role: Charge Point Operator (CPO) and/or Mobility Service Provider (MSP)
