The European Commission has launched the fourth call for proposals under the digital part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF Digital). The national deadline for applications in Finland is 8 January 2025, and the call for proposals closes 13 February 2025.
The European Commission has launched the fourth call for proposals under the digital part of the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF Digital). The call covers the following themes:
- 5G large-scale pilots
- Backbone connectivity for Digital Global Gateways
- Quantum communication infrastructure.

Key dates for the fourth call in Finland:
- 8 January 2025: Applicants must submit application form Part A and a project summary in Finnish to Traficom
- 6 February 2025: Traficom sends letters of support and possible approvals of declarations to applicants
- 13 February 2025: Deadline for HaDEA’s CEF Digital Call 4
In the previous call, two projects coordinated by Finnish operators received funding for a total of EUR 21 million. Funding was awarded to promote a submarine cable system and to expand the 5G network to Pyhtää airport.
