UAS operations inside the zone are allowed only after the flight arrangements have been agreed upon separately with the aerodrome operator, or if operations are carried out according to the local instructions and procedures.

The restriction does not apply to UAS operations in accordance with the rules and instructions of areas that have been officially designated for flying model aircraft and published in the aeronautical information system (AIC), nor to UAS operations in accordance with the conditions of certain UAS geographical zones with exemptions (Aviation Act 11 b §).

UAS operations inside the zone above 120 m (AGL) are permitted only under the following conditions:

  • up to 700 ft (AMSL) the flight arrangements must be agreed upon separately with the EFHF aerodrome operator, or operations must be carried out according to the local instructions and procedures.
  • above 700 ft (AMSL):
    • during the operational hours of the ATS unit, with a permission from the Air Traffic Service provider
    • outside the operational hours of the ATS unit, with a permission from the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency or under special condiotions set by the Finnish Transport and Communications Agency.

Outside the boundaries of EFHF UAS geographical zone, flying in the vicinity of an obstacle (a horizontal distance of 50 metres maximum) is allowed at all times, and the height of the obstacle may be exceeded with 15 metres at the request of the entity responsible for the obstacle.
