Due to the European Union’s EMSW Regulation (European Maritime Single Window), Finland will introduce a new NEMO information system for submitting port call notifications as of 1 January 2027. With the introduction of the new system, the current Portnet system will be closed.
The use of the new system will become mandatory for all operators on 1 January 2027. The Portnet system will remain in production use until that date.
The use of the NEMO system will begin alongside Portnet on 1 October 2026 for pilot organisations.
Ports must be prepared to use two parallel systems from 1 October 2026. Authorities will also prepare for parallel operating models from 1 October 2026 onwards.
Guidance and support for interface development is available from Fintraffic Vessel Traffic Services, as well as in upcoming interface webinars and user training sessions. Read more about the deployment of NEMO and related guidance on the Fintraffic Vessel Traffic Services website.
