The aim of the European Union’s Artificial Intelligence Act (AI Act, AIA) is to promote the trustworthy use of artificial intelligence in Europe. Its purpose is to ensure that AI systems placed on the market and put into service within the EU do not endanger people’s health, safety or fundamental rights.
