Seller: Print a pre-completed deed of transfer

Print pre-completed deeds of transfer from My e-Services for both you and the buyer to carry out the sale.

Complete the deeds of transfer when carrying out the sale and sign both of them. Check that both copies contain identical information. Keep the deeds of transfer in case any conflicts arise. 

When can you print a pre-completed deed of transfer electronically?

You are the owner of the vehicle, and you are at least 15 years old.

In the following situations, you cannot use the service:

  • Registration number missing: The vehicle does not have a valid registration number.
  • The right to change registration details has been restricted: The vehicle is subject to a registration alteration prohibition issued by an authority, or it contains registration pendency data.
  • The vehicle has been deregistered or finally deregistered, decommissioned for registration in the military vehicle register or decommissioned for registration abroad or on the Åland Islands.
  • The vehicle has been stolen: The police have marked the vehicle as stolen.
  • The vehicle is registered for diplomatic use.

Do the following

  • Step 1

    Log in to My e-Services

    After identification, select your service role: personal services, acting on behalf of another person or acting on behalf of a company/an organisation.

  • Step 2

    Print a pre-completed deed of transfer in the Vehicles and taxation section

    In the list, select the vehicle for which you want to print a pre-completed deed of transfer. Then select Seller: Print a pre-completed deed of transfer. In the service, you can download and print pre-completed deed of transfer.

If you cannot print pre-completed deeds of transfer from My e-Services, print blank deed of transfer forms instead.

Frequently asked questions about deeds of transfer

Yes, you can. However, we recommend using either pre-completed deeds of transfer printed out from My e-Services or empty Traficom deed of transfer forms.

If you make the deed of transfer yourself, remember to enter at least the following information: vehicle identification information (registration number, vehicle identification number, make, model), seller and buyer information (including personal identity codes or business IDs), vehicle transfer date and the signatures of both parties. 

Complete and sign a copy of the deed of transfer with identical content for each party.

The purchase price or terms of payment of the vehicle are usually not entered in the deed of transfer, as they are in the bill of sale. If necessary, the bill of sale can also be used as a deed of transfer if it includes vehicle identification information (registration number, vehicle identification number, make, model), seller and buyer information (including personal identity codes or business IDs), vehicle transfer date and the signatures of both parties.
